Rules and Regulations

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Failure to comply with Grand Bazaar NYC policies, procedures, rules and regulations may result in fees, suspension, or expulsion.

All Vendors
1. Selling, using, consuming, and/or possessing any alcoholic beverages, tobacco, or
drugs of any kind (including vaping), on Department of Education property, including
parking lot, schoolyard, and within the building, is strictly prohibited. You will be
removed from the market immediately if you do not comply with these rules.
2. No dogs/pets indoors: As we are on the property of the NYC Department of Education, no
dogs/pets are permitted indoors unless they are carried and leashed. Service Animals with
proper certifications are permitted with prior notification.
3. No subletting or sharing an assigned space without permission from Management. This
must be discussed and agreed upon before the vending date.
4. Merchants must have all required permits and licenses at the market.
5. New products must be approved by management before selling. Management reserves
the right to ask merchants to remove any merchandise from a merchant’s booth and market.
Management also reserves the right to enter all vendor spaces and inspect all merchandise
and equipment.
6. The following are prohibited: any counterfeit products, imitations, or trademarked goods;
controlled substances; pornographic literature, photos, videos, film, and any other related
products; weapons of all kinds; fireworks and/or pyrotechnics; use of offensive images or
language; any false descriptions, advertising, or promotion in written, photo/graphic or verbal
form; and any items or actions that are viewed by Management to be a danger or a threat to
the safety of the market’s visitors, merchants and/or staff. Management has the right to
request that any items that do not meet the market’s New York City Department of Education,
and legal requirements be removed completely.
7. Merchants are expected to conduct themselves professionally and respectfully to
visitors, fellow merchants, and the Grand Bazaar NYC and building staff in accordance with
our guidelines. Any offense could result in warning, a $100 fine and/or permanent expulsion.
8. Merchants shall not solicit other merchants for any reason.
9. Tipping professional and day staff is not permitted
As a reminder, we are guests in a school, and we need to operate as such. Further, as a
community organization, we expect respectful behavior among our vendors, our staff, our community, and our customers.

Food & Beverage Vendors
● All menu items, preparation methods, and equipment must be approved before vending.
● Changes to the menu, preparation method, or equipment must be approved.
● Pricing must be displayed.
● Food vendors must set up under a tent and cover food. All food handlers must wear gloves.
● Floor space MUST be covered with a tarp for those preparing and cooking food.
● All food vendors must have all required permits from DOH and NYC before vending.
● Food must be kept at the correct temperatures during market hours.
● All vendors must provide a trash receptacle when providing samples.
● Do NOT throw any market trash including aluminum pans, cardboard boxes, etc., into the trash
bins provided for customers. Take all your garbage with you.
● The area around your booth must be spotless before exiting the market! All oil must be taken
back at the end of the day. No oil should be left in the market or street curb Any oil stains
MUST be removed before exiting and notify management. Always have cleaning equipment
with you.
● See below for additional Fire Safety requirements.
● Grand Bazaar NYC is not liable for any violation or fines related to permits, food poisoning, or
likewise.

Tents & Tent Weights
● Tents should be 10×10 feet and ideally have a white top as they make your products
underneath look more natural.
● All tents MUST have tent weights. A minimum of 30 lbs. per tent leg must be secured to
the top of your tent frame or you may be asked to take down your tent or rental weights will be
added for you.

Trash & Cleaning
● Each merchant is responsible for leaving their space clean.
● Do not leave anything on rented tents, including tape, rope, zip ties, wires, etc.
● Vendors will be fined $100 for leaving any trash behind, including market trash, boxes, unsold
or broken merchandise, or placing items in the market’s trash bins or at the curb.
● Broken glass, ceramics, etc., must be reported to management for immediate clean-up during
the day.

Tablecloths
● Merchants MUST use fabric tablecloths on all tables. Boxes, bins, merchandise, and personal
items must be covered and hidden from view. Limited tablecloths are available for rent if you
forget.

Vendor Wristbands and Restrooms
● Vendors will receive a wristband at check-in.
● Merchants must wear vendor wristbands to access restrooms. Sharing vendor wristbands with
non-vendors may result in fines. Restrooms are reserved for merchants ONLY. No exceptions!
● Please be considerate to other vendors; leave restrooms tidy and dispose of soiled items in
the proper receptacles.

Electricity / Power / Fire
● Our indoor space has limited electrical outlets.
● Outdoors spaces have NO electrical outlets. Power must be self-supplied.
● Generator usage is limited to prepared food vendors and must not be louder than 60 dBA.
Gasoline canisters are not allowed on site. By law, generators are only permitted to be filled at
gas stations.
● Propane: Use of propane tanks greater than 1lb is allowed only for prepared food vendors and
with a permit/clearance (G-23) from the NYC Fire Department. The G23 holder must be
present while operating propane and all FDNY requirements must be followed. We are
inspected by FDNY monthly and repeated fines may result in loss of our permit.
o An FDNY fire extinguisher with up-to-date inspection tag is required for each propane
tank greater than 1lb. You will be asked to turn off your equipment if you do not have
the appropriate extinguisher.
o The use of 1lb propane tanks are permitted for non-food vendors for HEAT ONLY and
require an accompanying fire extinguisher.

● The use of sternos to warm up food is allowed if each warming table has a noncombustible
mat underneath, which generally measures 8 inches on all sides.
● Should we receive continued violations, the fees will pass on to vendors.

Walls and Floors
● NO tape on the floors, walls, outdoors or indoors.
● DO NOT pin, drill, or hammer anything into the floors, walls, outdoors or indoors.
● YOU MAY lean items against the wall but please BE CAUTIOUS not to leave marks,
scratches, or anything that may damage the surface.

Security
● Always keep an eye on your belongings. Grand Bazaar NYC is not responsible for lost and/or
stolen goods. If an incident occurs, please notify management immediately.
● Do not leave your cash box or purse lying around your space, even if “hidden.” Always keep
your money on you.
Other
● NO burning candles or incense.
● NO smoking of any kind (tobacco, vapor, and cannabis).
● NO alcoholic beverages or food can be sold or consumed.
● NO loud amplified music that reaches beyond your space.
● NO profanity – remember this is a family market! Keep it PG.
● NO WEAPONRY – KNIVES, GUNS, MACHETES – ANTIQUE OR OTHERWISE.

Policy Against Workplace Harassment
Grand Bazaar NYC (the Company) has a strict policy against all types of workplace harassment,
including sexual harassment and other forms of workplace harassment based upon an individual
membership in a protected class. All forms of harassment of, or by, team members, vendors, visitors,
customers, and clients are strictly prohibited and will not be tolerated. The Company prohibits any
form of sexual harassment, and all team members are required to work in a manner that prevents
sexual harassment. If you feel that you have witnessed or have been subjected to any form of discrimination or
harassment, notify us immediately.

Zero-Tolerance Policy
Grand Bazaar NYC has a zero-tolerance policy regarding workplace violence and will not tolerate acts
or threats of violence, harassment, intimidation, and other disruptive behavior, either physical or
verbal, that occurs in the workplace or other areas. This applies to management, co-workers, team
members, and non-employees such as contractors, customers, and visitors. Workplace violence can
include oral or written statements, gestures, or expressions that communicate a direct or indirect
threat of physical harm, damage to property, or any intentional behavior that may cause a person to
feel threatened.

Prohibited Conduct
Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
● Physically injuring another person.
● Threatening to injure a person or damage property by any means, including verbal, written,
direct, indirect, or electronic means.
● Taking any action to place a person in reasonable fear of imminent harm or offensive contact.
● Possessing, brandishing, or using a firearm on Company property or while performing
Company business except as permitted by state law.
Termination and Changes to Terms, Rules, and Regulations
Grand Bazaar NYC and Management reserve the right to make any changes to the terms, rules, and
regulations without notice. Grand Bazaar NYC and Management reserve the right to terminate any
agreement with a Merchant for any reason. Grand Bazaar NYC has the power and the duty to
immediately bar or terminate a vendor’s participation in any flea market or market program regardless
of the market’s duration, if the organization determines that the vendor is objectionable because of the
behavior or character of the vendor, and/or the nature of the goods and services sold by the vendor.

Counterfeits & Trademark Infringement
It is absolutely prohibited to bring, distribute, offer to sell, sell, or promote any counterfeit products,
imitations, or trademarked goods in any shape, form, or function. If violations are found, the merchant
will be removed and barred from any future participation. There will be NO warning provided.

Federal law prohibits illegal activity by vendors, including the distribution, offer for sale, and sale of
any counterfeit merchandise, and this is punishable by significant fines and imprisonment for up to 10
years.
Before vending at the Grand Bazaar NYC, you must read and sign the Vendor Agreement with the
Vendor Counterfeit Acknowledgement. By signing this document, you:
● Acknowledge that you will not be distributing, offering to sell, selling, or allowing others to sell or
make available for sale any counterfeit or trademarked products or services as part of your
presence and activities at the Grand Bazaar NYC or any other of its markets or pop-ups.
● Guarantee that you own and/or have rights to all trademarks, service marks, trade names, trade
secrets, inventions, copyrights, licenses, and other intellectual property associated with the
products and/or services that you sell or intend to sell at your booth in connection with your
business as described in the “business description” section of the Vendor Agreement.
● Warrant that your sale or resale of products or services does not infringe or constitute an
infringement or misappropriation of or capitalization on any patent, copyright, trademark, trade
secret or other proprietary rights of any third party.
● Acknowledge that this legal document, including the terms above, paired with the Vendor
Agreement, constitutes the valid and binding obligations of Vendor in relation to your presence as
a vendor at Grand Bazaar NYC.
You, Vendor, further agree to defend, indemnify and hold GreenFlea Inc. d/b/a Grand Bazaar NYC
and its employees harmless from and against any and all liabilities, losses, damages, costs and
expenses (including legal fees and expenses) associated with any claim or action brought against
GreenFlea Inc. d/b/a Grand Bazaar NYC for actual or alleged infringement of any patent, copyright,
trademark, service mark, trade secret, or other proprietary rights of others based upon Vendor’s sale
or resale of any product or service in accordance with the signed Vendor Agreement and Vendor
Counterfeit Acknowledgement.
Authentication Services
We are not in the position to make recommendations on how to authenticate merchandise or which
services to use, however, some services help authenticate merchandise prior to buying and reselling it
such as Entrypy, Real Authentication, and ProAuthenticators. With a little research, you can quickly
find others and narrow down an effective tool that works for you.

PAST DEALS
