Q: How and when did you get started with vending?
A: I was watching a documentary that chronicled the history of the country. Radios were prominently featured as both centerpieces of family gatherings as well as a gateway to the world. I thought about all the world changing events that passed through these devices. Sadly traditional airway radio broadcasts are quickly fading away into history and radios are becoming relics of a bygone technology. Seeing radios as important historical artifacts, I felt they should be preserved and enjoyed as they once were. With the advent of the global internet and Bluetooth technology, these resurrected radios can now proudly play sounds of the world as they once did.

Q: What did you do before OR what else do you do, workwise?
A: My full-time job is working for a prominent law firm where I manage their cases from a technical point of view.

Q: What is your most memorable vending moment?
A: My first day vending. I was never so exhausted at the end of the day! It’s a good exhaustion though, you are talking with so many people about something you are passionate about. It’s such a wonderful feeling.

Q: Has a celebrity ever bought something from you?
A: I recently had a film production company buy out my entire inventory which will be featured in their television shows. So exciting!

Q: Which celebrity would you like to buy something from you?
A: It would have to be Paul McCartney and Ringo Star. Think of all the Beatles songs which were played on these radios!

Q: Do you have a favorite food vendor?
A: Hands down, Runamok Maple syrup! The diverse flavors are amazing!

Q: What was your best sale?
A: Not just one sale, but it’s such a joy to hear the feedback from people who bought one. People say things like Listening to music on this radio brings be back to when I was in high school or Every time I turn the radio on, it reminds me of my Grandparents who would have a radio just like this one playing every time I visited them.

Q: Why are you so passionate about markets?
A: I absolutely feel alive when going to markets. You never know what hidden treasure you might find.

Q: When you were a kid what did you want to be, and why?
A: So many things: TV weatherman, centerfielder for the NY Mets, and an astronomer. I love the wonders of science and the Mets.

Q: When someone comes to your booth what should they ask you?
A: So how did you come up with this idea?

Q: Do you have any secret talents?
A: I run marathons all over the world. No better way to experience a different culture than to participate in a race. Running is a common language which brings people together.

Q: What guilty pleasure to you have?
A: Any kind of desert. Ice cream, peanut butter, chocolate

Q: What is your favorite thing to do in NYC, and why?
A: To run around the Reservoir in Central Park. The views are breathtaking with the majestic midtown skyscrapers towering over the tranquil trees of the park. It’s an amazing sight and unique to New York

Q: What is your favorite (NYC) restaurant?
A: George Keeleys. They have one of the best craft beer selections in the city, friendly bartenders, and really good pub fare. The endless supply of free Jamison flavored popcorn is an added bonus.
